Journeying

Journeying - three years and a day

Three years and a day

After their training, artisans should put on the final touches abroad.
So they take to the road. A journeyman's travels usually last
three years and a day

But there are strict rules: The journeyman must have finished his vocational training,
be single and debt-free. During the journey, the traveller must stay 50 kilometres away
from his home town; and travel by auto is frowned upon.
Today, roughly 800 to 1,000 journeymen go travelling each year. If you want to take part, then learn about it. The following contact may help you. Here you will find the contact addresses for various journeymen societies (Schächte). Have fun.
