French terry, also known as "summer sweat", is a fabric with a unique structure. It is made from a blend of cotton and polyester to combine the positive properties of both materials. Cotton is known for its softness and breathability, while polyester is hard-wearing and durable. Combining these fibres creates a fabric that also has a positive effect on shrinkage values. French terry is characterised by a smooth surface on the front. On the reverse side, however, the fabric has a characteristic looped appearance without being roughened. This gives it high breathability, a slightly elastic structure and a comfortable feel.
