The buttons are sewn onto a handle and then wrapped under tension with a special, elastic heat-setting yarn known as Ascolite.
This Ascolite process was developed to solve the problem of buttons coming off and to increase the durability of guild vests.

Three-wire cord is our heaviest fabric quality with a fabric weight of 600 g/m². The three-wire warp with triple-twisted warp threads is as tear-resistant as a warp. With up to 100 weft threads per centimeter, it is incredibly pile-resistant. This means that the cut, upright threads are particularly firmly anchored in the fabric and cannot be easily pulled out or worn away.
Three-wire cord is made to last. Traveling journeymen often choose this quality of fabric for the duration of their journey. The perfect fabric quality to survive three years and a day of pure adventure! Other properties of three-wire corduroy: breathable thanks to its high cotton content and comfortable to wear.
The corduroy is a little stiff at first. After a while, however, it adapts easily to your body contours and it then feels as if you are one.
The outer material is characterized by a very high colour brilliance as well as high durability in color and shape.

Your guild clothes will be made entirely to your specifications in our German production facility. You can choose between Genoa corduroy, Trenker corduroy, reps moleskin, canvas, German leather or English leather for your made to measure garment, in all available colours. We often fulfil additional requests for genuine leather, as it is the most durable option. It is best to discuss everything with your local FHB dealer. They can take your measurements perfectly and give you expert advice.

Three-wire corduroy is our heaviest fabric quality with a fabric weight of 600 g/m². Visually, the outer material is comparable to trench corduroy: wide ribbing (23 ribs per 10 cm length). The three-wire chain with triple-twisted warp threads is as tear-resistant as a chain.
The two outer pockets are edged with high-quality genuine leather. The double-breasted waistcoat traditionally has 8 buttons, representing the 8 hours of work per day. Fritz's buttons are made of genuine mother-of-pearl.
The guild waistcoat has a closable inside pocket on both sides. The inner lining and back are made from high-quality 300 g/m² body fabric in 100% cotton.
Fritz is just as suitable for everyday use on the construction site as it is as part of a traditional outfit for topping-out ceremonies or weddings.
